Easter is just around the corner! And if your family is like ours, you might enjoy a Easter brunch gathering before (or after) an egg hunt or two.
So instead of making one final Easter recipe for y’all today, I wanted to do a recipe round-up of some delicious Easter brunch recipes. I’ve featured several of my blog friends here, as well as a few of my own recipes.
Also, I should note that I’m partial to Easter brunch, so I sincerely hope that if you’re planning your brunch menu for this weekend, this post helps you a ton!
What to make for Easter brunch:
That depends on you, your guests and all of y’all’s tastebuds!
Personally, I love to have a combination of savory and sweet items that highlight a lot of seasonal fruits and vegetables.
Additionally, I like my Easter brunch menu to find a balance between different flavors and textures.
So I will choose a recipe with savory notes and serve it alongside something that’s sweeter or bready.
More notes on creating your menu:
Some things to ask yourself include:
What do you feel comfortable making at home?
What can you make in advance?
What can you purchase from the store to make life easier on you?
What do your guests like to eat?
I always like to think of my guests’ diets while I’m planning any menu, too. So I usually serve something without cheese, something vegetarian and something without gluten.
But how many of my favorite Easter brunch recipes should I choose?
That depends on how many people you’re hosting, what time your brunch is and how hungry everyone is.
If I’m hosting 8 guests, I will prepare two mains, 2-3 sides and 1-2 drink options. (Please note that I typically will make something alcoholic, like a mimosa bar, and then offer a non-alcoholic drink, too.)
This way, we’ve got variety without overwhelming the guests or me as I prepare everything. You can obviously do more if you feel up for it or make a larger batch main and present just that.
I assume everyone will have a small(er) portion or sliver of every main dish, as well as some of each side and 1-2 drinks.
Also remember that you can serve something as simple as a bowl of fresh fruit (think juicy blueberries, raspberries, cherries, etc.) as a side dish to pair with anything heavier or more involved.
Tips and tricks for hosting Easter brunch at home
Plan your meal ahead of time. Whether you’re making recipes for brunch, lunch or dinner, you need a game plan of what you’re making, when you’re making it, etc.
Purchase your groceries in advance. That means you’ll want to get your grocery list together well beforehand and go to the store.
Create a cooking timeline and plan! Whenever I’m hosting a holiday meal for my family or friends, I create a cooking plan for myself. Why? This makes the cooking a lot easier for me because I know when I need to start cooking. You can also plan to make certain dishes in advance that you know will keep.
Don’t sweat the small stuff! The joy in hosting any holiday meal and entertaining is being together. If your cooking timeline gets thrown off or if something doesn’t turn out the way it was supposed to, it’s OK. Being with your people and sitting down together with them over a meal is the important piece.
