Hey-o! It’s time for our next gift guide!
When I was planning content last year, I put together several very specific guides to help you purchase gifts for your people. Today’s is no different.
Whether you’re shopping for a birthday present, a holiday gift or a just because, we’ve got you covered.
And this week, we’re talking about grilling gifts for the grillmaster (or barbecue pitmaster) in your life.
My friend, Valorie, searched high and for the most unique and fun BBQ gift ideas. Then she put together this guide to highlight various grilling-related present ideas for your loved one.

Grilling Gift Sampler Set
This gift set includes five different types of grilling planks and two bags of smoking chips for your loved one to try out. The smoking chips are cherry and hickory, the planks are cedar, alder, cherry, hickory and maple. These are a great sampler pack for the grill master, especially someone who wants to learn about smoke and different types of wood.
Each different sample creates a unique food pairing. Try using one on the stove and then on the charcoal grill. Even with the same meat, it’ll taste different both times! While grill planks typically can’t be used more than once, if you keep these in good condition, each one could probably be used twice.
BBQ Timer Shirt
What goes together better than an outdoor grill and a cold beer? Probably nothing. This T-shirt makes a funny joke about timing and beers, perfect for anyone with a sense of humor about their cooking. It takes one beer to make a rare steak, but a second beer to enjoy it, right?
Offered in both men’s and women’s sizes, you can purchase it for any grill master in your life! Reviewers say the design is crisp and high quality, but to watch out for shrinking. If I were purchasing this T-shirt for myself, I’d avoid throwing it in the dryer or would size up. It’s a lightweight, classic fit.
Franklin Barbecue: A Meat-Smoking Manifesto, by Aaron Franklin and Jordan Mackay
This cookbook comes from the owners and cooks behind one of the most famous barbecue joints in the United States. After opening a small stand on the side of an interstate in Austin, Tex., they became one of the most popular and critically-lauded barbecue joints ever. Franklin has won every major barbecue award in existence.
In this book, Aaron Franklin reveals his secrets to great barbecue. It’s more than a recipe book—Franklin helps the ambitious pitmaster design their own smoker, learn how to cure wood (and how to discern which woods to cure and pair with certain dishes), and how to create the perfect fire. This is sure to be an oft-referred to book in a grill and barbecue lover’s house.
FreshJax Grilling Spice Gift Set
Make your life a little easier and order this ready-to-gift spice set. It comes with five interesting new spices for your loved one to test out the next time they fire up the grill. It includes peppery habañero, fresh bay, grill master, smokey southwest and citrus pepper. Each is sourced with fresh organic ingredients.
A spice set is a great gift for any occasion—graduation, Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, a housewarming or even a hostess gift. Anyone who loves to cook will love this gift set, but it will go over especially well with adventurous grillers.
And if you don’t think five spices is enough, upgrade to the 10-pack, which also comes packaged in a ready-to-gift boxset.
Stainless Steel BBQ Grill Tools Set
Anyone who loves grilling is going to love this great toolset. It comes with a spatula, fork, tongs, knife, basting brush, grill brush, extra brush head, eight corn holders, four skewers and a digital meat thermometer.
Each tool has a non-slip rubber handle. And to make clean up easy, everything is dishwasher safe. Everything easily packs away into designated slots with belts to keep them from mixing together. The slim silver storage case has a lock and looks great, too.
This makes a great gift for anyone who is looking to upgrade their tools or is learning how to grill on their own and are in need of quality equipment.
Leather Hand-Stitched Craftsman Apron
Everyone needs an apron while they grill, and not only will this genuine brown leather one look great on anyone, but it’s incredibly functional, too. (While I love a good cloth apron for the kitchen, having a leather apron for the grill is clutch.)
The leather will hold up forever, and the aging process on leather is much more glamorous than fabric. Each apron is hand-stitched, and the suede leather paired with gunmetal rivets gives it a cool vintage professional look.
The three pockets are great for holding tools without getting in the way. Each strap is easily adjustable, as well, so this gift is going to be a staple in your loved one’s grilling routine for years to come.
