Dinner Divas Weekly Meal Plan: Week 149
Looking for food inspiration for next week’s menu? Look no farther than the Dinner Divas weekly meal plan, a comprehensive plan that includes FIVE dinners, a Mardi Gras dessert and a homemade bread.
Welcome to this week’s Dinner Divas Weekly Meal Plan!
We’re celebrating Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday this week, so you’ll see we have a lot of Louisiana-style dishes for you to make and share with your family and friends. We’ve also got a homemade bread that’s all kinds of dreamy AND Mardi Gras dessert.
I suggest making the Mardi Gras dessert this weekend so you and your family can nibble on it as Fat Tuesday draws nearer. 😉
What is the weekly meal plan?
Every Friday, I share a new menu plan here that always includes FIVE dinner options and TWO extras. This menu is curated by me and a few friends, and we call ourselves the Dinner Divas because, well, that’s what we do.
Our dinner options feature (mostly) healthy, seasonal foods that don’t take all day to prepare because nobody has time for that. 😉 And the extras we share can be side dishes, desserts, drinks and more.
We hope this weekly menu helps you create your shopping list and prepare for the week ahead, as well as provide inspiration. And hey, if it makes your life a little easier, too, we’re thrilled to help!
Y’all ready for this?
Dinner Divas Weekly Meal Plan (February 24-28, 2020)
Looking for food inspiration for next week's menu? Look no farther than the Dinner Divas weekly meal plan, a comprehensive plan that includes FIVE dinners, a Mardi Gras dessert and a homemade bread.
Monday's Dinner: Langostino Étouffée
Étouffée is a classic Cajun and Creole dish that means "to smother." Basically, you cook down the meat--in this case, langostino--low and slow with veggies and other flavors until it's melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Serve over rice, and you've got the perfect dinner for Lundi Monday!
Tuesday's Dinner: Light Chicken Muffaletta
The Muffaletta is a New Orleans classic! I love this twist on it, using chicken, because it's a little lighter but still brings all the flavor! Comfortably Domestic shares exactly how to make it on her blog... and it's great for sharing, too, in case you're hosting friends for Fat Tuesday!
Wednesday's Dinner: Simple Creamy Pasta Sauce for Two
I don't know about you, but there's nothing more than a dreamy, creamy pasta to share with the people I love. This one from Online Pastry Chef is no different, and it's the perfect solution for a mid-week dinner.
Thursday's Dinner: Shrimp and Grits
We normally make Shrimp and Grits on Fat Tuesday, but I really like extending the celebration until Thursday! This classic recipe calls for Gulf-caught shrimp, andouille sausage and the creamiest homemade grits you've ever tasted. Trust me when I say you're gonna want to gobble the whole thing up and not want to share... because it's that flavorful!
Friday's Dinner: Mediterranean Bowls
We're switching up our Friday night dinner by making a bowl full of Mediterranean flavors! Add in your favorites and mix 'em up for the perfect light meal to end the week. The real question is: What will YOU be putting in your bowl?
Bread Option: Soft Potato Bread
Whether you love homemade bread to serve alongside dinner or to toast up for a sandwich, this SOFT POTATO BREAD is what you're looking for! Fluffy and light, this recipe from Online Pastry Chef is the stuff bread dreams are made of!
Mardi Gras Dessert: Cream Cheese and Raspberry King Cake
A stuffed King Cake is a Louisiana tradition... but it's hard to find a good, fluffy and scrumptious King Cake if you don't live in South Louisiana. (We've yet to find one that's acceptable in Dallas, and it's been years.) So every year, we make our own. It takes time and effort, but my goodness, is this baked bready cake the real deal and oh-so-tasty for sharing during the Mardi Gras season.
