What side dishes go with steak?

Sometimes, the side that pairs with the steak is dependent on the steak itself. Obviously, you’ll treat a filet mignon a little differently than a grilled skirt steak.

For the traditionalists, steak and baked potatoes are a perfect pairing. The juicy steak sits on top of perfectly creamy mashed potatoes and the potatoes sop up the juices.

Some people prefer to eat vegetables with their steaks, be they creamed corn, sauteed mushrooms, asparagus or something more unique, like Spinach Madeline. (Which is essentially a creamy, cheesy, spicy version of creamed spinach.)

Others prefer side salads, like a fresh arugula salad or a classic wedge salad with blue cheese dressing. Personally, this isn’t my jam, but to each their own.
