Mint Lemonade

Mint Lemonade // The Speckled Palate

It’s heating up outside, y’all, and I don’t know about you, but I want something that’s going to cool me down as the temperature continues rising.

The impending summertime heat makes me crave lemonade.

When I was working in Mississippi as a staff photographer, I stumbled upon the most charming little lemonade stand when I was searching for “wild art.” When there were holes that needed to be filled in the paper, the photographers were sent out to drive around town and stumble upon something fun to make photos of… and I lucked out with this lemonade stand because it was hopping!

I haven’t seen any lemonade stands popping up in my neighborhood just yet this season, but I know it’s only a matter of time because the heat of summer is creeping toward us (and definitely said “HELLO!” loudly on Sunday as I was running my marathon. More on that Friday.)

This lemonade recipe is different because it’s an individual serving, though you could easily double or triple it, and it calls for some mint, which, in my opinion, makes it that much more refreshing.

Here’s how you can make this crisp, tart lemonade at your home:

Cool off with this naturally sweetened Mint Lemonade. It's a twist on the classic that is perfect for a warm day!
Recipe type: Drink
Serves: 1
  • 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1¼ cups cold water
  • 7 mint leaves, muddled
  • 2 teaspoons agave nectar
  1. In a large glass, muddle the mint leaves, then pour in the lemon juice, water and agave nectar.
  2. Stir the drink until combined, adding additional agave nectar for sweetness if that's your thing, then drink immediately.
The longer you let this drink steep, the more minty it will be!

This looks super refreshing and delicious! I’ve made homemade lemonade before but never added mint, which I really love. 🙂 Pinned to make. 🙂
It was getting warmer here in CT but now it’s cool and rainy. 🙁ReplyCancel

Gorgeous, Erin! I love the simplicity of this refreshing drink… it looks stunning in the glass too! Great job for using agave, so many homemade lemonades are choc-full of refined sugar from what I’ve seen. I hope you’re loving the warmer weather! xxReplyCancel

Yes, please! This lemonade sounds like the best possible way to use a handful of the mint that is running wild in my garden right now. Super refreshing!ReplyCancel
