Sparkling Bourbon Pumpkin Apple Punch is the PERFECT autumnal punch! Sprouts Organic Pumpkin Spiced Apple Cider acts as the base of this crowd pleasing drink, then ginger ale and maple simple syrup are stirred in. For the final touch, we add bourbon. This sings of pumpkin and apple, as well as seasonal spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. This punch would make a unique Thanksgiving cocktail.
How ‘bout we make a boozy punch to celebrate the season of PUMPKIN?
Yes, I realize today is a Monday.
Yes, I realize that you probably aren’t going to rush out and get these ingredients because it’s Monday morning.
Yes, I realize that it’s still blazing hot in some areas of the country. (Mine included.)
But can I just say that y’all need to give this cocktail a go? Because it didn’t last a day in our house.
I’m a sucker for anything that tastes like it should be enjoyed during the fall, whether it be a delicious entrée or a seasonally flavored dessert.
The thing is, I have my qualms with too much nutmeg in any kind of dish… so I wrongly thought for more than half of my life that I disliked pumpkin.
For shame, right?
Well, I’m here to say that I love pumpkin. I’d just prefer it not be choked out by the nutmeg, mmmkay?
Understandably, I’m so thrilled to share this recipe with y’all today.
Sprouts Farmers Market sent me a pumpkin-centric care package with several of their seasonal pumpkin products… and I’ve gotta say that I was so inspired that I wanted to use everything they sent me in a recipe.
They challenged me to create a yummy pumpkin themes side dish, entree or dessert.
I had so many ideas for these ingredients, y’all… and this recipe was originally supposed to be some muffins, but those didn’t quite work the way they were supposed to.
But that’s not to say this punch is second tier. Oh, no, no. Those baking mishaps led me straight into the arms of this drink.
Sparkling Bourbon Apple Pumpkin Punch is something we’re going to enjoy during the upcoming holidays. Additionally, I can see it being poured in a go cup to bring along while trick-or-treating… or a double batch mixed up to serve in a huge pitcher at Thanksgiving.
It isn’t terribly sweet, the bourbon doesn’t bite and goes down smooooooooooth, and the Organic Pumpkin Spiced Apple Cider? Yeaaaaaaah… I’ll go ahead and say I can drink an entire bottle of this without any additional ingredients because pumpkin + apple + cider spices = heavenly flavor goodness.
But the combination of these ingredients? Take an already delicious product and elevate it to party level.
Here’s how I made this punch and how you can do the same for your next autumnal get together:
Sparkling Bourbon Apple Pumpkin Punch
- 32 fl. oz. Sprouts Organic Pumpkin Spiced Apple Cider
- 24 fl. oz. ginger ale
- 6 oz . bourbon
- Maple Simple Syrup
Maple Simple Syrup
- ¼ cup water
- ¼ cup 100% pure maple syrup
Make the Maple Simple Syrup
- In a small saucepan, combine the water and maple syrup.
- Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. (This should take 5 minutes, tops.)
- When simmering, remove from the heat, and let cool to room temperature.
Make the Sparkling Bourbon Pumpkin Apple Punch
- In a glass pitcher, combine the Organic Pumpkin Spiced Apple Cider, ginger ale, bourbon and Maple Simple Syrup.
- Stir until well-mixed.
- Serve chilled or over ice.
