Remember when Valorie and I got together to make some coffee cocktails for y’all? (If you don’t, please head on over to see African Sunrise, The Boyfriend Irish Coffee and The Melty Cold Brew Shake.)
Well, we’re still continuing the series, even though #NationalCoffeeDay has come and gone.
Because coffee cocktails, as it turns out, are quite delicious. (And we still have two other fun cocktails to share once y’all see this one!)
Why I love this recipe:
Today’s drink is fabulous for cocktail hour.
The Siciliano is light and sweet (without being cloyingly saccharine like some cocktails). There’s a cherry tartness to the cocktail, and it doesn’t have a coffee or alcohol taste.
Which means this drink could maaaaaaaaaybe get you into some trouble if you had a few too many at happy hour.
But maaaaaaaaaybe, just maybe, that could be a little fun?
Either way, this drink is delightful for sipping.

- Jigger or mini angled measuring cup
- A chilled martini glass (or another glass you prefer)
- Cocktail spoon
Let’s talk ingredients!
In addition to the tools above, you’re going to need some ingredients to make this recipe, too! Chances are, you might already have some of them in your fridge or pantry. Scroll down to the recipe card for the full measurements and instructions.
Here are the ingredients you need to pick up at the grocery store or liquor store:
- Sweet vermouth — also known as red or Italian vermouth, this is an apertif wine and an integral ingredient in this recipe (and a lot of classic cocktails.) It makes for the perfect sweet, full-bodied base. This is not the same thing as dry vermouth, which is lighter and crisper.
- Cold brew coffee — you can make your own or purchase a bottle from the store or your favorite coffee shop.
- Simple syrup — this adds a little bonus liquid sweetness to our drink. I like to make my own (and keep it in the fridge), but you can also purchase a bottle of pre-made sugar syrup at the store.
- Club soda — this is added at the end and adds some lovely effervescence to our cocktail.
How to make a Siciliano cocktail
Chill a martini glass in the fridge or freezer.
Measure the sweet vermouth, cold brew, simple syrup and club soda into the glass.
Give them a stir to combine, then enjoy!
We chose not to garnish ours, but you could easily add an orange wheel or a citrus wedge for garnish, if desired.

When to share…
- HAPPY HOUR: This is a fun and unique sipper to serve!
- DINNER PARTY: Kick things off with a batch of these before appetizers.
