Peanut butter lovers, GET EXCITED, because I’ve got the treat for you today!

It should come as no surprise that I’m just a wee bit obsessed with all things peanut butter.

I meaaaaaaan, I’ve made cookies. I’ve made breakfast. And I’ve made several more cookies in the past six years.

When I was a teenager, I liked to sprinkle chocolate chips on that spoonful and occasionally packed my lunch with a peanut butter and chocolate chip sandwich for school.

Because peanut butter and chocolate is my favorite dessert combination.

spreading peanut butter on a waffle

Today, I’m taking that chocolate-peanut butter combination to a new level with these delightful Peanut Butter Chocolate Waffle Sandwiches.

It’s a mouthful to say and enjoy, but y’all. If you’re a peanut butter-chocolate lover, these decadent little sandwiches are totally gonna be your jam!

And it’s all because of the new Pillsbury Peanut Butter Frosting, made with real Jif® Peanut Butter!

Allow me a moment to gush over this peanut butter frosting.

It’s indulgently creamy. It’s whipped to perfection and tastes homemade (without the potential heartache of clumpy homemade peanut butter icing.) It spreads so easily.

And it’s incredibly easy to enjoy. Like, grab-a-spoonful just because easy to enjoy.

Not only is it easy to enjoy, it’s easy to snag at Kroger! I found the Pillsbury Peanut Butter Frosting on the baking aisle of my local Kroger.

So you can probably find it on the baking aisle of YOUR local Kroger , too. And for the time being, you can grab a digital coupon for this frosting! (HI, as if you needed another reason to give it a try!)

    chocolate waffle sandwiches

These waffle sandwiches couldn’t be easier to make.

It all starts with a simple chocolate waffle batter that cooks quickly in your favorite waffle maker. And once the waffles cool, you smear that Pillsbury™ Peanut Butter Frosting on ‘em, stack ‘em as high as you’d like, then immediately enjoy.

To finish my Peanut Butter Chocolate Waffle Sandwiches, I topped them with a few dark chocolate chips (for extra chocolate-y decadence!) and powdered sugar.

    Then we dove in.

I suggest you do the same IMMEDIATELY because these sandwiches are the best little dessert treats we can enjoy this season!

    Instructions

    • In a large glass bowl, measure out the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Whisk until combined, then set aside.
    • In a microwave-safe glass bowl, measure out the unsalted butter. Heat until melted, then add 2 tablespoons of the Pillsbury Jif Peanut Butter Frosting. Whisk the ingredients together.
    • Add the milk and vanilla extract, and whisk.
    • Pour in the egg, and stir until combined.
    • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and stir until just combined. (Some lumps are OK in this batter, as overmixing it will make for less fluffy waffles.)
    • Let the waffle batter sit for 5-10 minutes.
    • While the batter rests, heat your waffle iron to the manufacturer’s instructions.
    • Once the waffle iron is heated, spray with nonstick cooking spray, then pour in ¼ cup to 1/3 cup of the batter.
    • Cook the waffles until risen and fluffy, then remove from the waffle iron. Let cool on a metal cooling rack while you make the other waffles.
    • Once the waffles are all made, let them sit for an additional 15-30 minutes, or until they are at room temperature.
    • When the waffles have cooled, cut the waffles into quarters along the seams.
    • Spread the Pillsbury Jif Peanut Butter Frosting over the waffles, letting the frosting coat the surface, then sandwich 2-4 quarters together into a waffle sandwich.
    • Repeat until all waffle quarters have been used, then sprinkle with chocolate chips and powdered sugar.
    • Enjoy immediately.

    Notes

If made in advance, store in the refrigerator until time to eat. We stacked ours on a plate, then let them come down to room temperature before enjoying later.
