Real talk: I’ve been obsessed with winter citrus this year.
Like, tossing it into every kind of recipe obsessed.
And I’m so thrilled to be bringing y’all yet another winter citrus smoothie because this one is different… and quite honestly, it tastes like a healthy CREAMSICLE.
You know, that ice cream pop you used to purchase from the ice cream truck waaaaaay back when?
You remember what it tastes like upon memory, huh?
I know I do, and I’m not kidding around when I say this smoothie reminds me of it.
To make it even more tantalizing… it’s a smoothie. It’s made with freshly squeezed fruit juice. And I added a little whey protein powder to the mix, too, to get that creaminess.
The folks at Naked Nutrition sent me their Grass Fed Whey Protein Powder to try out… and goodness, am I glad they did. It worked beautifully in this Creamy Winter Citrus Smoothie and added that much-needed creaminess to elevate this from a mixture of fruit juices to a delicious way to start your day.
This protein powder comes grass fed cows’ milk, which has no artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners. It’s GMO-free, soy-free, gluten-free and growth hormone-free.
Also? Each serving has 25 grams of protein! Huzzah!

That smoothie looks soooo refreshing and perfect for keeping your immune system spot on this winter! I’m always looking for a good protein powder, so I’ll have to check out Naked Whey. Happy Friday!
The layers in this are gorgeous! It looks so refreshing, I wish I had one in hand right now.
This looks so delicious . I want to try it and try this protein too.
Pink grapefruit is one of my favorites and combined with maple syrup sounds awesome!
I need to make this! I adore anything that involves pink grapefruits.
You had me when you said it tastes like a creamsicle! 😉 I have a weakness for healthy smoothies that taste just like dessert.
This looks and sounds delicious! I could do this for breakfast and snack!
I love creamy citrus smoothies in winter. So refreshing!
ahh this is such an amazing color! does the maple syrup flavor come through a lot (and if it does, how does it pair with the citrus)? i love maple syrup but sometimes i find it a bit strong.
Thanks, Heather! To answer your question, I didn’t think the maple syrup flavor came through too strong. It paired nicely with the citrus and balanced the bitter notes of the grapefruit for me. (If you don’t find grapefruit bitter, then you probably don’t need any extra sweetener!) That said, you can certainly use less or use a different kind of sweetener if you think the maple syrup will be too much for you. If you do that, please let me know how it turns out!
I could live off smoothies if it were possible!
