Hi, hello. It feels like it’s been a while, huh?

I’ve got some big news to share with y’all today—we adopted a dog! It just felt serendipitous, and we knew when we met her that she was the one for us.

Her name is Dove. We adopted her from a rescue organization called Dizzy Dog after a friend of mine met her at a shelter in Houston and the rescue group stepped in to save her off the euth list.

She is sweet as pie, good with our girls and just… incredibly chill.

We adopted her the night of August 13 and have all loved her ever since. She has been such a delight to add to our lives and our home.

    Let’s Discuss Highlights:

    • Hosting family: We hosted two sets of grandparents in Dallas this month, and it’s been nice to get back into our usual “routine” as the summer wound down.
    • Back to school: Our older one started school in the middle of the month. Our younger one starts first thing next month. Both girls are excited about their schools and learning… and it just makes me so incredibly happy to see them happy like this.

Now Let’s Talk About This Monthly Love List…

To recap, my potluck, as defined by the folks at Merriam-Webster is:

the regular meal available to a guest for whom no special preparations have been made… a communal meal to which people bring food to share —usually used attributively ; whatever is offered and available in given circumstances or at a given time.

Now who’s ready to see what ended up on my list for August 2022?!?
