Cucumber Finger Sandwiches with Feta and Cream Cheese Spread

These aren’t your mama’s Cucumber Finger Sandwiches! These sandies are a twist on the classic baby and bridal shower finger food. Instead of the traditional mayonnaise-based spread, this recipe calls for a whipped feta and cream cheese spread, studded with dill. Cut your thinly sliced bread into the desired shape, slather with the whipped feta and cream cheese spread, top with a English cucumber slice, sprinkle with dill, and you’re good to go!

It’s an exciting day! Jenna from A Savory Feast had her baby boy last month, and we wanted to celebrate today by throwing a virtual baby shower for our sweet friend!

Yeah, yeah. I know. It’s not the same as all of us getting together and throwing this shindig in person, but it’s the best we can do since we live so far apart. And hey, let’s all dream of getting together and making all the food and eating and having a fabulous time, mmmkay? And then let’s make it happen sometime!

Congratulations to you, Jenna! We’re thrilled for you, and we hope that you love all these recipes we made in your honor. (Links to ALL the recipes in today’s shower are near the bottom of this post!)

I opted to make a twist on a traditional shower food: Cucumber Sandwiches.

I tried a Cucumber Sandwich for the first time at my cousin’s bridal shower nearly 15 years ago. I instantly fell in love with it. In fact, I remember going back again and again for more because they were so delicious.

So why mess with a good thing, right?

Because I wanted to elevate the deceptively simple Cucumber Sandwich. And I made it without the use of mayonnaise, which we should all know by now is not a staple in my house because my husband is 100% against it.

These Cucumber Sandwiches are all about the crunch of the cucumber, the freshness of the dill and the tanginess of the feta and cream cheese spread. And that spread? Absolute gold, y’all.

One of the best parts about these sandwiches is they don’t take a ton of time to make, either. The spread whips up in less than 5 minutes. And the assembly of the sandwiches takes the longest. So this is the perfect app to throw together just before shower guests arrive!

Now who’s ready for some BABY SHOWER RECIPES?!

I’ve teamed up with some of my sweet blog friends to throw Jenna of A Savory Feast recently a virtual baby shower. If only we lived closer so we could all get together, but since we cannot, but here are some ideas for a smashing baby shower menu. We included a few of Jenna’s own recipes (without her knowing!), so be sure to give her posts some love, too!

    1. You ladies are the BEST! What a sweet surprise today. I am loving all these delicious recipes. Too bad we can’t all get together to enjoy them!

    2. I love the feta cream cheese spread instead of mayonnaise! We aren’t huge mayo fans in our house so this tangy cheesy version will be far more popular! Such a fresh twist!

    3. I love these dainty, refreshing bites! I’ve had Afternoon Tea at several high-end establishments and these were always included.

    4. During college, I was obsessed with cucumber cheese cream sandwiches. Love the addition of feta! Gotta try this combo out!
