    Dynamic duos, y’all. And today, we’re celebrating one of these pairings in a simple but utterly flavor-filled holiday appetizer!

    It’s so important to have a go-to, delicious appetizer up your sleeve this time of year. Parties are in full swing, and it’s nice to serve something tasty for guests to nibble on, whether you’re hosting or not.

    Needless to say, I have a new favorite appetizer in these Cranberry Turkey Puff Pastry Tartlets.

    And yes, I realize that’s a whole heck-of-a-lot to say for this appetizer, but I wanted the title to capture what’s in them. And, well, these bites have a little bit of everything.

    A little bit of heat from the Jennie-O Oven Ready Cajun Style Bone-In Turkey Breast. (Seriously, y’all, I’m loving that this turkey goes straight from the freezer to the oven and that it bakes in a bag with no fuss!)

    Tart sweetness from the cranberries.

    Saltiness from the feta cheese.

    And a pop of bright herb flavor with the fresh thyme added at the very end.

    While Cranberry Turkey Puff Pastry Tartlets are easy-peasy, you’ve got to prepare for them in advance because the Jennie-O Oven Ready Cajun Style Bone-In Turkey Breast has to bake before the appetizers are made.

    To make things easy on myself—and to avoid being frantic in the kitchen the day of a party—I suggest baking the Jennie-O Oven Ready Cajun Style Bone-In Turkey Breast a day in advance and storing it in the refrigerator overnight. Make the cranberry sauce in advance, too. (I used some of my cranberry vanilla sauce from last month, but any kind of cranberry sauce would be tasty!)

    When it’s time to make the appetizer, simply remove the cranberry sauce and turkey from the fridge and get to work!

    It only takes 10-15 minutes tops when your ingredients are good to go. 🙂

    And then they’ll bake for 20-25 minutes (or until golden brown, which was about 35 minutes in my dying oven—sigh) and come out and be the talk of the party!

    Who doesn’t love a slightly sweet-salty-spicy appetizer?

    Cranberry Turkey Puff Pastry Tartlets

    Ingredients

    Instructions
     

    • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a nonstick baking mat, and set aside.
    • As the oven preheats, let the puff pastry warm slightly.
    • Remove the Jennie-O Oven Ready Cajun Style Bone-In Turkey Breast from the bone, and chop into bite-sized pieces. Set aside.
    • Roll out the puff pastry, and then slice into 9 equal parts.
    • Place the puff pastry onto the prepared baking sheet.
    • Dollop 1-2 tablespoons of cranberry sauce onto each piece of pastry. Spread with a knife.
    • Top the cranberry sauce with chopped turkey. (Eyeball it, but you don’t want it to be overflowing.)
    • Sprinkle feta cheese on top of the pastries.
    • Transfer to the preheated oven, and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry has puffed and browned slightly.
    • Remove from the oven, and let cool slightly before sprinkling on fresh thyme leaves as the finishing touch.
    • Serve warm, and enjoy!

    Notes

    Please note that the Jennie-O Oven Ready Cajun Style Bone-In Turkey Breast needs to bake before this recipe is made. Mine took nearly 3 hours in my ancient oven.
    Also note that the Jennie-O Oven Ready Cajun Style Bone-In Turkey Breast will make a LOT more turkey than this recipe calls for! You can double, triple, quadruple the amounts of ingredients here if you’re hosting a party. If not, be prepared for lots of awesome leftovers!
    The Jennie-O Oven Ready Cajun Style Bone-In Turkey Breast can be baked a day or two in advance in preparation of making this party appetizer.
