Pupcake on plate with red hearts

For those of y’all who have been reading this blog for a little while, you should know I have a dog. (And this blog is named after her… kind of.)

She’s been my girl for six and a half years, and I love her so very much. So many things have changed since she first came into my life. We’ve moved several times; she’s adopted a father, who she adores, even if she wasn’t a fan of him at first; and she’s going to become a Big Puppy Sister in just a few short weeks.

Despite all the change, she has remained constant.

Dog sitting at a table in front of pupcake on a plate

Our lives would be so different without Lucy, and we do our best to make her feel special and loved as often as possible, especially since we think her early months were challenging.

Case in point? I’ve been known to bake for her on occasion.

Today is one of those days.

In preparation for Valentine’s Day, I wanted to do something sweet for Lu.

Dog treats in grocery store aisle

What dog doesn’t enjoy Milkbones? I headed over to Walmart to peruse their selection, and I found Mini’s Biscuits, which are stupidly cute and absolutely perfect for these pupcakes!

I also grabbed some Pup-peroni for my sweet girl while there because she loves those, too. As we prepare for our baby’s arrival, I know we’re going to keep a stash of puppy treats by the front door so visitors can give Lu a little something before they enter our home and meet Lady Baby.

So the Pup-peroni and the (leftover) Mini’s Biscuits will be getting good use. I’m hoping they’ll make Lucy more happy to welcome household visitors, too.

This recipe is so easy to whip up, and since it makes a small batch of pupcakes, you won’t have a ton of leftovers sitting around.

These pupcakes are extremely soft, so they’re something that is easy for your pup to eat, too! You won’t have to worry about them attempting to eat the entire thing in one bite and having a bit of trouble getting it down.
