Tailgate Thursday: How to Make a Roux

in entrees, How-To, Tailgate Thursday

I know, I know. I’ve been a little quiet around these parts because things have been a lot busy in life. But all this is changing, hopefully, and I’m excited to announce to y’all that I am a new contributor to the website Twenties Hacker. I’ll be writing about food – cooking and how-tos mostly, I believe – once a month, and I am super excited to be a part of the food team.

My first post went live today, and I wanted to share it here, too, because it’s an important part of ANY tailgate here in Louisiana.

A roux.

Because, you know, it’s the base for so many scrumptious dishes.

And because it’s delicious.

So mosey on over to Twenties Hacker to watch my video (yes, VIDEO!) of How to Make a Roux. And let me know what you think about it, will you?

Happy Tailgating, and Geaux Tigers! Beat Bama!

I love this! And I’ve totally purchased things from the Nola school of cooking. Great spices there.
